Left-wingers on the Internet are having a meltdown over something David Seymour has done.
The Associate Minister of Education has issued non-binding guidance to help parents make informed decisions about sending their children to the schools the government runs and which children are required by law to attend.
This was no doubt intended to look like it would be helpful. After all, the pandemic has changed how we look at these things. Parents are frequently uncertain about if it’s okay to send a kid to school when they’ve sneezed twice in the morning. So on the face of it, this seems pretty reasonable.
Well, here is the advice.
In short:
Mild Symptoms: Children with mild symptoms like a slight cough or runny nose who do not have a fever and have tested negative for COVID-19 can attend school. This is subject to the child feeling generally well and able to participate in school activities.
Symptoms of Concern: Children exhibiting more severe symptoms, such as high fever, persistent vomiting, diarrhea, or significant respiratory distress, should stay at home. These symptoms could indicate a contagious illness or require medical attention.
Return to School: Children can generally after symptoms have improved or ceased, following recommended isolation periods for contagious diseases.
Monstrous stuff right? To make it absolutely clear how much he hates parents, Seymour also made this Hitleresque statement when the guidelines were released:
