The only way to protect your children — and others' — is to denounce the trans cult at every opportunity. It is dangerous and completely divorced from biological reality.
Thank you for this considered and humane response to what is a tragedy. Grief is hard enough when there are no if-onlys, how much harder it must be when, like this, there are so many.
If anorexia nervosa is a psychological condition with roots in the family relationships, then the parents must have a place in the therapeutic process, but it is also a given that the parents on their own will not be able to rectify the problem. It appears to be a complex condition which is difficult to manage or cure. The gender identification issue only served to further complicate this particular case. My sense is that anorexia arises when girls resist the natural process of maturing into womanhood. That is, when girls, for whatever reason, do not wish to become like their mothers. To me that suggests that there is something about their mothers, or about the way others relate to their mothers, which they find deeply, perhaps subconsciously, distressing. Therefore a cure for the condition will only be found in the context of family along with professional help from outside the family. I wonder if the incidence varies between adherents of different religious denominations?

What a sweeping assumption, based entirely on the supposition that "anorexia nervosa is a psychological condition with roots in the family relationships".
That assumption has torn families apart as counsellors/psychologists try to blame family members for a condition that likely has nothing to do with them.
Well, you explain the condition for us Graham. And don't do things like leaving out the "If" which began that statement if you want to debate with integrity.
I apologise for missing out the "if". I meant to include it but cut-and-pasted clumsily.
However, the family origins of anorexia (predominant 20-30 years ago) have long been abandoned as the major influence with evidence the condition may be caused by metabolic, genetic or gut microbiome problems.
I too have a number of children and as the old fashioned breadwinner did not spend much day to day time with them. It was the norm. I was lucky and my wife and her widowed mother provided nurture. Now in turn I enjoy post millenial grandchildren.
St Raphael the Archangel, pray for Vanessa, and for us.

To imagine anyone can change sex is deranged.

Reason has left the room for those who adhere to bizarre beliefs that defy the inescapable reality of biology.
A triumph of ideology and box-ticking. But such a tragedy and waste of a young life.
Yes, and appalling that some folk are using this tragedy to further their various agenda.
